Haskell & Co. Limited is ideally located in the East Midlands to provide blast freezing and cold storage services to businesses in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire as well as further afield.

Our palletised storage areas can run as ambient or temperature controlled storage. All stores have free standing floor space allowing us to handle loads that will not fit into racking systems. We also provide additional services such as blast freezing, handballing, order picking, individual case or pallet weighing and shrink wrapping.

We are EC licensed and operate within a comprehensive HACCP system.

Blast Freezing

We operate two blast freezers, each with a capacity of 14 pallets, which are capable of freezing fresh product down to -20° within 18 to 24 hours. Both chambers can also be set up for blast chilling or uptempering. The blast freezers can be run separately enabling us to blast freeze product in one chamber whilst chilling or uptempering product in the second chamber simultaneously.

We also provide a separating service whereby product is separated or divided before it is put into the blast freezer. This allows air to flow around the product and helps reduce the amount of time it takes for the product to freeze.

Frozen, Chilled & Ambient Storage

Our four palletised storage areas operate independently of each other and can be configured to run as refrigerated warehousing or ambient storage depending on customer demand. As a standard, our cold stores operate down to -20° (frozen) and between 0 to 4° (chilled). However, depending on the volume of product stored our in-house engineers from the Refrigeration arm of our business can adjust these temperatures to suit specific customer requirements.

The temperatures of our cold stores are continuously monitored and recorded. Faults or breakdowns are attended to immediately by our in-house engineers and planned servicing is carried out every 6 months meaning that our cold storage services are extremely reliable.

Container Handballing

As well as dealing with palletised product on trailers, Haskell & Co. Limited has the facilities to undertake container unloading and loading (handballing) where individual cases are either taken off the container and put onto pallets or taken off pallets and put onto the container. We can handle containers carrying a single product or multiple products. We can also provide the pallets for product coming into the cold store or customers have the option to provide their own.

Most handballing operations involve products that have been imported or are going to be exported and we can provide all necessary information to enable completion of DEFRA Health Certificates by veterinarians.
